The Emerge Craft Fair was definitely a highlight of my 2023, as it is where my makers marketing began. This event focuses on and showcases women-owned small businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was spearheaded by Angela Wu, an amazing human being who started this event in the Fall of 2022. I had the most whimsical experience meeting Angela back in 2022, when I was still simply displaying my pieces in Dolores Park while reading a book or having a nice park day with my friends. I was just heading home, walking down Valencia street, when I heard rushing footsteps behind me and a voice of a woman yelling "excuse me, excuse me!". I was certain that this woman behind me was in a rush, so I stepped aside to let her run past me. To my surprise, she stopped right next to me, short of breath, asking me if I sold the necklaces I had hanging on a frame I was carrying. I told her about my little business, and she invited me to participate in her first ever craft fair to organize. That was how I got my first ever craft fair experience back in 2022, and is why the Emerge Craft Fair is such a special place to be in for me.
It was really nice to bring my stall up a bit more in terms of display and organization. The first year I got to participate in Emerge, I only had my four layer shelf, and some rods for necklaces. This year, I had more displays, more lighting, and of course more variations to my jewelry. The classic pieces I have, such as the Wildflower and Forget Me Not necklaces were still on hand, as these babies are absolutely stunning. I got to meet so many new people, and reconnect with friends I met from the year before. The event was once again a success! It was really nice to meet so many of you. The people I meet at craft fairs become part of my inspiration to grow my brand. Because of these two lovely and very encouraging ladies, I felt more confident in my craft, as they allowed purchased the exact earrings they were looking for. I feel so fuzzy knowing that my customers are enchanted and excited when they wear my pieces, and these girls expressed it so loudly. Thank you.
